Printing on banner
A material to solve many tasks
Banner or banner fabric is a versatile material suitable for solving a wide range of tasks. The main components are polyester mesh and PVC filler. Due to this, banner fabric is strong enough to break, it is waterproof and has excellent adhesion with printing ink.
To print on banner we use solvent-based and UV printing.
Aggressive solvent inks erode the top layer of PVC in the banner. Thus, paint pigments penetrate and get fixed to the material. It is a proven and the most budget printing technology on banner fabric as of today. For several years, under the influence of sunlight the solvent-based paint fades noticeably.
UV printing is a modern eco-friendly printing technology. UV paint lays down well on the surface of the banner forming a film on it. Due to this UV printing allows to achieve the brightest saturated colors. Image is more resistant to fading and impact of other external factors after UV printing.
Banner fabric can be laminated and molded. The first option is cheaper, but less strong, as fiber of reinforcing mesh are just laminated by a layer of PVC. The second option is more expensive, but much stronger. For its production the PVC literally shall be “fused” in the mesh structure, which makes the product more cohesive and resistant to delamination.
The banner can be divided according to its application:
- Frontlit is the most widespread version designed for single-sided printing.
- Backlit, thanks to uniform light scattering, is used in various constructions where light is supplied from the rear side.
- Blockout is the material for double-sided printing, made of two bonded banners with black impenetrable layer between them.
- Mesh is a banner mesh having a “mesh” structure (“holes” take up to 45-50% of the mesh area). It is used to reduce weight and windage.
Banner fabric is widely used for the decoration of shops, streets, interiors, exhibitions, etc. It is suspended on the walls of houses, bridges, stands, fences, temporary structures are covered by it.
Backlights are made from backlit-banner. Huge painted walls are manufactured from cast banner or mesh previously having welded separate segments into a single fabric.
Tents, pavilions and covers for touring cars are also made of the denser banner. This is an inexpensive and convenient solution. In addition, this material will be useful if you want to do the marquis – tent canopy on the terrace or at the entrance to your building.
